Simon Bull
Operations research and data science leader. I build custom optimization systems for planning problems where the right answer isn’t obvious and standard software doesn’t fit. I work from problem definition, through implementation, to tools that drive measurable business impact.
Most of my work is supply chain optimization: network design, production scheduling, S&OP, and real-time dispatching, spanning fleet operations, agricultural commodity trading, resource extraction, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Many of these problems involve genuine uncertainty. Demand isn’t known until the day, prices shift, disruptions arrive mid-execution, and handling this well requires first-class modelling of uncertainty and keeping decision makers closely engaged.
My doctoral research at DTU was on efficiency and robustness in railway operations, and I’ve co-authored work on supply chain resilience for McKinsey.
